Mr. Jimmie Lee Peebles, 71 of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Memorial Satilla Health.
Born in Wrens, GA on March 27, 1950, he had lived in Thomson most of his life until moving to Pierce County in August 2020. Mr. Peebles had been a truck driver for Pullium Trucking Company in Mitchell, Georgia for 42 years and retired from McCorkle Nursery in Dearing, GA. He was a very active man until his health began to fail. Over the years he had enjoyed playing golf and going dancing and loved to sing and watch westerns. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Thomson but had attended Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear.
He was a son of the late James Thomas & Lillian Lorene Cato Peebles. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Ann Peebles; and a brother, Ronnie Peebles.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Haynie Peebles of Blackshear; a son, Tommy Peebles of Lincolnton; three daughters, Jeanie Peebles of Thomson, Linda Nichole Peebles of Warrenton, and Satina Poole of Lincolnton; three step-daughters, Heather Miller and April Smith both of Nahunta and Holly Kindle of Blackshear; a step-son, Dennis Hysell of Orange Park, FL; two brothers, Charles Peebles of Windsor Mill, MD and James Peebles of Gibson; five sisters, Frances Miller and Patricia Templeton both of Wrens, Linda Boyd and Ginger Davis both of Gibson, and Dorothy Wood of Augusta; 9 grandchildren, Kallie, Chole, and Isabella Votipka, Raven & Chelsee Weddle, Leland Peebles, Brendon Kitchens, and Krystyn and Preston Poole; 5 step-grandchildren, Adam Lee Strickland, Mason Strickland, Makaila, Kendra, and Madisyn Smith; a great grandchild, Brycen Mathis; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will have a memorial service for Mr. Peebles at a later date.
