Jason Jordan Obituary

Mr. Jason Morris Jordan, 47 of Blackshear, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Waycross, GA on March 2, 1974, he had lived in Pierce County in the Forks of the Hurricane all of his life.  Jason was a 1993 graduate of Pierce County High School.  He had worked for CSX Transportation for over 17 years but left it to pursue his life-long passion, farming, which he had done basically all of his life.  Jason was a big history buff, enjoyed using his metal detector, going camping, and just being outdoors.  His main hobby was farming but he did find time to go to the mountains with his family on vacations.  Dollywood was a favorite of his but riding the rollercoasters there were not.  He also enjoyed going to Disneyworld with his girls and felt the same about their rollercoasters as he did about Dollywood’s.  Jason was extremely proud of his girls and loved them dearly.  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was in the Young Adult Sunday school class.  Jason loved going to church and leading others to Christ.

Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, E.W. & Ethel Sweat Jordan, Jr. and maternal grandparents, Frances Lake McIntosh and Marie Lackey McIntosh.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Mary Ann Matich Jordan of Blackshear; his two daughters, Savanna Grace Jordan and Hanna Elizabeth Jordan both of Blackshear; his parents, Morris and Mary McIntosh Jordan of Blackshear; his brother and sister-in-law, Justin & Jill Jordan of Blackshear; his in-laws, Lana & DeWayne Aldridge of Blackshear and Walt & Zeda Matich of Blackshear; his sister-in-law, Liz & Jason Yarbrough of Blackshear; his brother-in-law, Matthew & Taylor Aldridge of Blackshear; 4 nieces and nephews, Hunter Yarbrough, Ty Yarbrough, Julie Jordan, and Kase Aldridge; his German Shepard, Rex; and several aunts, uncles, other relatives, and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Jason will be held Thursday morning, September 16, 2021, at 11:00 from Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Stone and Rev. Matt Rodgers officiating.
