Mr. James Ward Woodcock, 88, of Patterson, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 7, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Woodcock was born in Patterson, GA on May 3, 1932, and had lived in Pierce County all his life. James was retired from United Market, and was known as a social butterfly. He loved to visit with friends, and he loved to fish. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Estelle Rowland Woodcock; his aunt & uncle who raised him, Jack & Eunice Woodcock; two of his sons, James Mitchell Woodcock and Sanford Marlowe Woodcock, two sons-in-law, Joe Herrin and Randy Deloach; and a grandson, Simmon Gregory Woodcock.
Survivors include his wife, Wylene Cason Woodcock of Patterson; four daughters, Sherry Herrin of Blackshear, Tammy (L. M.) Lane of Jesup, Alesia Deloach of Douglas, and Wendy (Bronze) Kimbrell of Daytona Beach; three sons, Ray Anthony Woodcock of Patterson, Gregory Wendell (Judie) Woodcock of Brunswick, and Eric Ward Woodcock of Patterson; a sister, Alene Leggett of Brunswick; a brother, Earl (Frieda Mae) Woodcock of Jesup; 15 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services for Mr. Woodcock will be held Friday morning, October 9, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock from the Mill Creek Cemetery.
Interment will be in the Mill Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, October 8, 2020 from 6:00 o’clock until 8:00 o’clock.
