Mr. James Leon "Hotrod" Johnson, 70 of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, October 16, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Clearwater, FL on December 15, 1951, he had lived in Florida for several years before moving to Pierce County in 1976. Mr. Johnson was a truck driver and was retired from HMH Trucking in Hazlehurst. He loved hunting, driving 18 wheel trucks, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a son of the late James Oroy & Ophelia Vann Johnson. He was also preceded in death by both of his brothers, David Eli Johnson and Ray Johnson.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Leon & Patty Johnson of Blackshear; his sister and brother-in-law, Sheena & William Sims of Blackshear; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mr. Johnson’s family will have a Celebration of Life service to honor him at a later date.
