James Hendry, Jr. Obituary


James Bradley “Brad” Hendry, Jr., 75, of Blairsville, GA passed away on July 12, 2022 after an extended illness.

Brad was born in Waycross, GA and graduated from Blackshear High School in 1965 where he served as the Senior Class President. He graduated from Valdosta State College in 1969 with a BS Finance degree. Furthering his finance studies, Brad attended The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he received his MBA in Finance in 1975.
Brad also served in the U.S Navy from 1969-1973 as a Radioman. After his discharge from the Navy and after receiving his MBA, Brad spent his entire career in Banking having served as President of several banks in the Atlanta metro area.

He was the son of the late James Bradley Hendry and Ruth Flanders Hendry of Blackshear, GA. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Hendry of Blairsville, GA; a son, Brendan (Tamora) Hendry of Red Hook, NY; a daughter, Jessica (Ryan) Cody of Castle Rock, CO; a granddaughter, Amelia Cody; two brothers, Sidney (Wanda) Hendry of Young Harris, GA; David (Margie) Hendry of Blairsville, GA; along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Blackshear, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16 at the First United Methodist Church in Blackshear, GA.

Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brendan Hendry, Sidney Hendry, David Hendry, Ryan Cody, Janssen Tucker, Nathan Pritchard and Connor Pritchard.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society would be appreciated.
