James Michael "Mike" Boyd

Mr. James Michael “Mike” Boyd, 57, of Waycross, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Annie Arundel, MD on February 28, 1968, he lived in Ware and Pierce Counties most of his life.  Mike was a former forklift operator having worked for B-Way, Dollar General, and Varn Woodyard.  He loved to fish and work around the house. He was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

He was a son of the late James Patten & Barbara Jean Callahan Boyd. 

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Joyce Murray Boyd of Waycross; his son, Jason (Brandy) McKinney of Blackshear; two sisters, Frieda (Robbie) Thomas and Michelle Crawl all of Columbus; three brothers, Rick (Fatou) Callahan, Raymond Callahan, and Eric (Anethia) Callahan all of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, Zachary, Keely, Cagen, and Hayden McKinney; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service for Mike will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 2:00 o’clock from the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Big Creek Cemetery.
