Mr. James Foster Boatright, 90, of Blackshear, passed away Monday afternoon, August 12, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Alma, GA on February 16, 1934, he had lived in Riverside, California prior to moving to Pierce County 29 years ago. Mr. Boatright was in the dairy business for more than 20 years as well as farmed. Later in life, he and his wife, Annamae, worked in the handyman/woman business doing all sorts of work for people in Pierce and surrounding areas. Mr. Boatright enjoyed fishing, working in his garden, and plowing fields & watching crops grow. He loved life and especially loved his family. He was a member of Abundant Life Church.
He was a son of the late Melton Mitchell & Becky Boatright. He was also preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenny & Sylvia Boatright; his son-in-law, John Manzanares; a grandson, Brent Scott; all four of his sisters, Vernell Galloway, Eva Mae Mccullough, Naomi Smith, and Martha Boatright; and three brothers, Art Boatright, Junior “Mitch” Boatright, and Floyd Boatright.
Survivors include his wife, Annamae Overman Boatright of Blackshear; his daughter, Becky Manzanares of Colorado Springs, CO and Blackshear; four sons, Rick (Renee) Boatright of Alma, Jeff (Jan) Boatright of Blackshear, Andy (Nicole) Boatright of Baxley, and Jerry (Lisa) Boatright of Blackshear; three brothers, Glenn (Kitty) Boatright of Orange Park, FL, and Quincey (Betty) Boatright and Garry Boatright all of Callahan, FL; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; a great, great granddaughter on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Boatright will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Jones and Rev. Mike Stone officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Carter Chapel Cemetery.
