Horace Robert Strickland

Mr. Horace Robert Strickland, 80 of Blackshear, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at Memorial Satilla Health.

Born in Blackshear, GA on December 9, 1940, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. Mr. Strickland had worked for Southland Waste prior to going to work for Redi Mix Concrete where he retired. An avid outdoorsman, he loved riding 4-wheelers, hunting, and being at the river. Mr. Strickland dearly loved his family and the Lord blessed him by making his last day with them a good one. He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.

He was a son of the late Eugene Rufus & Gladys Mae Godwin Strickland. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Strickland; a granddaughter, Destiny Strickland; and his brother, Donnie Strickland.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Richardson (Juan Suarez) of Waycross and Rhonda (Shane) Brewer and Tonya (Humberto) Falcon all of Blackshear; two sons, Rodney (Amy) Strickland of Blackshear and Royce Strickland of Waverly; a sister, Patricia Tuten of Rentz; 10 grandchildren, Clay (Amanda) Poss, Brandi Williams, Cammeron Brewer (Kayla Dixon, Courtland Brewer, Dylan Strickland (Samantha Beecher), Kayla Suarez, Skyy Williams, Dalton Strickland, Danica Salas, and Mariana Falcon; 17 great grandchildren; a special friend, Sandra Bryant of Waycross; his pet dog, Honey; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 o’clock.

Memorialization is by cremation.
