Mr. Homer Craig Walker, 68, of Patterson, passed away early Saturday morning, January 25, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Waycross, GA on September 29, 1956, he had lived all of his life in Pierce County. A 1974 graduate of Blackshear High School, Craig had worked for many years as a male attendant at the Pierce County Hospital until its closure, and then at Memorial Hospital, now Memorial Satilla Health, in Waycross. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to any and everybody. He was a huge fan of the Pierce County Bears and never missed an opportunity to attend or listen to the games on the radio. He was of the Christian faith, having attended Emmanuel Baptist Church while growing up.
He was a son of the late Herman Colquitt and Mary Fosteen Mincey Walker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rickey L. Walker, and a sister, Mary Virginia "Ginger" Vickers.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike & Deborah Walker of St Simons Island and Andy & Delores Walker of St Cloud, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
