Greig Stephen Berneche

Mr. Greig Stephen Berneche, 63, of Waycross, passed away Sunday morning, March 30, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Born in Augusta, GA on February 5, 1962, he grew up in South Georgia moving to Minnesota as a teenager where he would graduate from high school and go on to enlist in the US Army.  Following his time in the military, Greig owned his own tree trimming business in Minnesota before moving back to Georgia twenty years ago.  He worked in construction for Scotbilt Homes then for Live Oak Homes before retiring.  Greig was a huge NASCAR fan and loved to laugh and pick on people.   

He was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Herring; and a brother, Brian Corbitt. 

Survivors include his wife, April Grau Berneche of Waycross; two daughters, Sara Berneche (husband, Steven Bender) of St. Marys and Paige Bowers (husband, Jeffery) of Blackshear; three sons, Wayne Carver, III, Caleb Boatright, and Julian Boatright all of Waycross; his mother, Carol Berneche Corbitt of Waycross; three brothers, Scott Berneche (wife, Faye) of Jesup, Darrin Corbitt of Waycross, and Billy Corbitt (wife, Kim) of Askov, MN; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Corbitt of Blackshear; 5 grandchildren, Paisley Bowers, Harlie Wilson, Rylie Bender, Cooper Bowers, and Tatum Bowers; his pet bulldog, Khloe; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will be celebrating Greig’s life this Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 o’clock at the home of Paige & Jeffery Bowers, 6641 Tot Drive, Blackshear, GA.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
