Glenn Smith, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Glenn Isaac Smith, Sr., 82 of Bristol, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Bacon County Hospital.  His wife of 61 years, Gail Pauline Brown Smith, 75 also of Bristol, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at her residence.

Glenn was born in Patterson, GA on July 24, 1939.  He had lived in Brooksville, FL for many years before moving to Bristol six years ago.  Glenn was a carpenter and loved teaching his grandchildren the trades he had learned.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and skeet shooting with his grandchildren.  He was a wonderful story-teller and his moto was “Do it until we get it right – we don’t give up”.  He loved his family unconditionally and so enjoyed the time he spent with them. Glenn always said he fell in love with Gail the minute he saw her and knew he was going to marry her someday.  Gail was born in Dover, NH on March 13, 1946.  She had been a bookkeeper for Shane’s Crib for several years.  Gail was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister who would do anything she could to help someone.  She enjoyed gardening and dearly loved her husband and all of her family.  She and Glenn loved the Lord and attended Lake Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.

Glenn was a son of the late Algernon Beal & Ethel Nancy Boyette Smith.  Gail was a daughter of the late William Robert & Margaret Ida Allard Brown.  They were also preceded in death by a son, Scotty Michael Smith.

Survivors include their children, Debra Savarese of Brooksville, FL, Denise (Perry) Blanford of Spring Hill, FL, and Glenn Isaac (Sandra) Smith, Jr. of Villa Rica; 9 grandchildren, Brian Savarese, Michael (Jaine) Savarese, Austin Savarese, Zachary Bowles, Glenn Isaac (Cody Blue) Smith, III, Samantha Smith, Nichole Brandon (Shane Thomas), Cheyenne Brandon, and Jonathan Blanford; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild.  Glenn is also survived by a sister, Joann Dixon of Albany; and two brothers, J. C. (Sue) Smith of Leesburg, FL and Edsel Smith of Cleveland, TN.  Gail is also survived by a sister, LeAnn (Thomas) Baillargeon of Chesapeake, VA; and two brothers, Walter Ford (Debbie) Brown and Douglas (Donna) Brown all of North Port, FL.  They both have numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
