Mr. Glenn Brooks “Sam” Ivey, 62, of Blackshear, passed away Monday afternoon, November 20, 2023, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Glenn was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 3, 1961. He came into this world special and spent his whole life showing everyone just how much. His family and all who knew him adored him. Glenn loved the Lord, going to church, listening to gospel music, and “preaching” with his Bible in hand. He was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church, now Living River Church of God. Glenn also loved to eat with spaghetti being one of his favorite meals.
He was a son of the late James Alvin & Inez Hester Walker Ivey. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Hatcher, Mary Hodge, and Dorothy Brooker; and all four of his brothers, Robert, Cecil, J. L. & Vernon Ivey.
Survivors include his three sisters, Linda Fraizer (Wayne Davis) and Glenda Heideman all of Blackshear and Debra Norton of Patterson; numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved and cherished him; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Glenn will be held Monday afternoon, November 27, 2023, at 3 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor R. B. Gaskins officiating.
