Mrs. Geraldine “Geri” Roberson Cox, 93 of Patterson, passed away Wednesday morning, April 22, 2020, at Harborview – Pierce County.
Born in Patterson, GA on December 3, 1926, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. Mrs. Cox was a 1945 graduate of Patterson High School. She had worked in accounting for the former Rubin Brothers Footware, Inc. for over 40 years prior to working in accounting at Julie Hat where she had worked until they closed. Mrs. Cox enjoyed working in her yards planting/tending to her flowers and growing a garden and if you have ridden by her home you could see the fruits of her labor for her yard was truly beautiful. She had also enjoyed doing ceramics, baking cakes, and cooking. Mrs. Cox was a member of Laura Chapel Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson “A.J.” & Dorinda Dowling Roberson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Cox; a great granddaughter, Taryn Elizabeth Cox; all three of her sisters, Lona Bell Oswald, Eula Peeler, and Melvina Pittman; and three brothers, Grady, Kenny, and Gordon Roberson.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Marie) Cox of Salem, AL and Donnie Cox (Aline Leggett) of Patterson; a brother, William Roberson of Atlanta, GA; 2 grandchildren, Michael (Leslie) Cox and Chris (Karen) Cox; 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Cox, Nathan Cox, and Ayden Cox; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a private graveside service for Mrs. Cox on Friday, April 24, 2020.
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
