Geraldine “Gerry” Harris Colbath, 82 of Blackshear, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at the Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL.
Born in Blackshear, GA on August 7, 1938, she moved back to Pierce County in 1973 after traveling throughout the country with her husband who served in the U. S. Navy. Mrs. Colbath sold Avon for 37 years where she became a Senior Executive Avon Representative. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waycross First Ward where she was very active and had served in many capacities within the church. Gerry loved to travel and loved everything Disney, especially Goofy. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved all of her family.
She was the daughter of the late Ivan Taylor and Lera Pauline Williamson Harris. She was also preceded in death by her son, Francis Colbath; and a sister, Carolyn Foster.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Pete Colbath of Blackshear; a daughter, Tammy Riggins of Blackshear; a son, Rory Colbath of Blackshear; a sister, Janice Stephens of Blackshear; four grandchildren, Gary Riggins, Kristin (Brett) Harrison, Lance Riggins, Linzee Riggins; two great grandchildren, Alayna Harrison, and Deklan Riggins; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Colbath will be held Thursday morning, November 12, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Colbath will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the funeral.
