Geneva Diann (Baldwin) Bowers

Mrs. Geneva Diann Baldwin Bowers, 67 of Waycross, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.

Born in Waycross, GA on August 8, 1954, she had lived in Ware County most of her life.  Always a hard worker, Mrs. Bowers had worked for Winn-Dixie in Waycross for thirteen years until they closed and went on to work for Kroger retiring after 17 years of service.  She liked unicorns, and shopping & spend money.  Family was everything to her and she was a great listener.  Mrs. Bowers was like a mother to not only her children but everyone else’s.  She dearly loved her grandchildren and went by “Mema”.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She was a daughter of the late Lonnie Edwin & Thelma Louise Lester Baldwin, Sr.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Bowers; and by a sister, Wanda Faye Baldwin.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra & Ricky Youmans of Waycross and April Altman of Blackshear; her son, Jeffery “Jeff” Bowers, Sr. of Blackshear; three sisters, Thelma Louise Wright of Waycross, Christine Elaine Reisinger of Arkansas, and Melissa Joyce Baldwin of Virginia; a brother, Rev. Lonnie Edwin Baldwin, Jr. (wife, Brenda) of Waycross; 11 grandchildren, Samantha (Daniel) Sweat, Kayla Bowers, Rebecca Bowers, Jeffery Bowers, Jr. (Paige), Alexandria Byrd (Michael), Chase Altman, James Bowers, Cierra Youmans, Brice Altman (Kayleigh), Joshua Bowers, and Scott Stanfield; 13 great grandchildren with two more on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bowers will be held Wednesday morning, June 29, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening.

Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Tyler Peacock, Jeffery Bowers, Jr., Chase Altman, Brice Altman, Daniel Sweat, Carl Mansfield, Jared Boggs, and Jordan Boggs.
