Mrs. Geneva Sears Aspinwall, 98, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Offerman, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, at her residence.
Born in Brunswick, GA on November 5, 1927, Mrs. Aspinwall lived in Offerman most of her life before moving to her daughter’s in Bloomingdale ten years ago. She was a Patterson High School graduate. She was a homemaker and was deeply devoted to her husband and children. Over the years, she had helped her husband on the farm and joined him in planting their garden. Mrs. Aspinwall also enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers. She was a longtime member of Offerman Baptist Church and dearly loved her church and pastor.
She was a daughter of the late Calvin Sears and Beulah Cowart Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, Jack Allen Aspinwall; a sister, Betty Ann; and her brother and sister-in-law, Donald “Buck” & Evelyn Sears.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie & Bill Yawn of Bloomingdale and Heather & Corey Best of St. Augustine, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Barbara Aspinwall of Meldrim; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Aspinwall will be held Friday afternoon, December 5, 2025, at 12 o’clock from the Offerman Baptist Church with Rev. James Lightsey officiating.
The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Offerman Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Shelly and Mrs. Dee with Island Hospice for their love and devotion shown to not only Mrs. Aspinwall, but to her family during her time with hospice.
