Gary Joseph Dell, Jr.

Mr. Gary Joseph Dell, Jr., 65 of Blackshear, passed away suddenly Friday, March 18, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Born in Waycross, GA on July 2, 1956, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life.  Mr. Dell had worked for General Box for 28 years and had worked as a mechanic with United Egg.  A simple man, he enjoyed working on things with his hands and was very creative.  Known as “the Handyman”, he took pride in everything he did. He was a perfectionist and was known to have a stubborn streak, though he would never admit it.  Mr. Dell dearly loved his grandkids and a big glass of sweet tea, was a good father and provider, never quit trying (that stubborn streak), and was a good listener. He was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.  

He was a son of the late Gary Joseph Dell, Sr.   

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Scarlet Cade Dell of Blackshear; two daughters, Tina (Craig) Howard and April Dell all of Blackshear; three sons, Joseph (Amber) Dell, Noah Dell, and Nathan Dell all of Blackshear; his mother, Carolyn Kay Boyles Dell of Waycross; a sister, Pamela (David) Bullard of Waycross; three brothers, Randy (Dianne) Dell, Chris (Pam) Dell, and Kyle Dell all of Waycross; 6 grandchildren, Eli Howard, Cason Dell, Abby Dell, Addison Dell, Jeremiah Dell, and Olivia Dell; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Dell will be held Tuesday morning, March 22, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock from the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 918 Big Creek Church Rd, Odum, Georgia 31555, with Elder Shane O’Neal officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Stanley Cade, John Hunt, Colt Walker, Heath Walker, Eli Howard, and Cason Dell.

Visitation for Mr. Dell will be held Monday evening, March 21, 2022, 6-8 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Big Creek Cemetery.
