Ethel Taylor Obituary

Ms. Ethel Virginia Taylor, 73 of Waycross, passed away Thursday evening, February 11, 2021 at her residence.

Born in Waverly, GA on June 28, 1947, she had lived in Ware County most of her life.  Ms. Taylor had worked at sewing factories in our area for a few years before becoming a CNA and working for Ware Manor Nursing Home.  She was retired and enjoyed being a homemaker.  She loved fishing and going to garage sales & flea markets but her favorite hobby was playing pool.  She had won several tournaments over the years.  Ms. Taylor enjoyed having her family around her and was a very proud grandmother and great grandmother.  She was of the Church of God faith.

She was a daughter of the late Johnny Taylor and Myrtle Johns Tyre.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Taylor; a brother, L. J. Joyner; and two grandchildren, Addiston Lynn Stone and Holton Flener.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary “Skeeter” (Davis) Stone of Hoboken, and Sonya (Doug) Flener, Theresa (David) Jewell, and Ginny Barnard all of Waycross; her son, Warren Taylor of Blackshear; a sister, Betty Ann (Charles) Moore of Hoboken; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Ms. Taylor will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2021, at 3 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the High Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines as well as the use of facemasks is strongly suggested.
