Ernest David Gibbs, Sr.

Mr. Ernest David Gibbs, Sr., 65 of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at his residence.
 
Born in Fitzgerald, GA on November 20, 1954, he had lived in Fitzgerald for many years before moving to Pierce County within the past year.  He had worked for Aeroquit  in Fitzgerald for many years prior to working in security.  He loved to watch all kinds of movies and also loved listening to all kinds of music.
  
He was a son of the late Ernest Frank “Sonny” & Etta Bell Penn Gibbs.  He was also preceded in death by both of his brothers, James Allen Gibbs and Anthony Glen Cross.
 
Survivors include his daughter, Tabitha Gibbs of Blackshear; his son and daughter-in-law, David & Lori Gibbs, Jr. of Westminster, SC; his granddaughter, Emma North; his sister, Debbie (Mike) Alligood of Macon; the mother of his children and his caretaker, Joann Gray of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
 
Memorialization will be by cremation.
 
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a memorial service at a later date.
