Mr. Edsol “Joe” Yeomans, 81 of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Bristol, GA on November 11, 1939, he had made Bristol his home all of his life. Mr. Yeomans was a life-long farmer was an avid outdoorsman having hunted deer and quail all of the time. He loved horses, especially his favorite studhorse, Sam, and had a Sunday ritual of saddling him up and going on rides. Mr. Yeomans could often be found holding down a bench at Country Boys and speaking to everyone that came in. He loved his family - his great grandchildren were the apple of his eye - and so enjoyed going to Capitan Joe’s with them. Mr. Yeomans was a member of Bristol Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Vera Mae Yeomans. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Theraldine “Dolly” Walker Yeomans; his son, Bryan Yeomans; and his grandson, Jordan Manders.
Survivors include his two daughters and a son-in-law, Gay Yeomans and Cherrie & Darien Manders all of Bristol; his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Donnie) White; four great grandchildren, Robert Earl White, Tucker Eli Manders, Reed Lane White, Ryder Grae Manders; Weyland (Melissa) Yeomans of Blackshear who was considered a brother; and several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Yeomans will be held Friday afternoon, November 27, 2020, at 4 o’clock from the Bristol Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends immediately following the service.
