Mr. Ed Gill, Jr., 53, of Waycross, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 17, 2025, in Waycross.
Born on January 10, 1972, in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Ed spent most of his life in Brantley County. He worked for many years in the flooring and drywall business, earning a reputation for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Ed had a passion for fishing, metal detecting, and discovering old treasures — hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors and appreciation for the past. Above all, his greatest pride was in being a father. He dearly loved his two sons, Triston and Dalton, who saw him as the best dad anyone could ask for.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Edward “Curly” Gill, Sr., and a brother, Josh Fulford.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Triston Gill and Dalton Gill, both of Waycross; his mother and stepfather, Deborah and Dennis Fulford, III of Waycross; five sisters, Kim (Bill) Jenson of Fernandina Beach, Charitie (Scott) Allen of Waycross, Crystal Gill and Carrie Gill, both of Fernandina Beach, and Samantha Spivey of Blackshear; two brothers, Joseph (Brooke) Spivey of Blackshear and Bubba (Chelsea) Spivey of Waycross; two special nieces, Tessa Ferguson and Sierra Ferguson; two great-nieces, Allie Melton and Ayla Smiley; a great-nephew, Kyler O’Quinn; and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, August 21, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
A private interment will take place at Enon Cemetery.
