Dorothy Marie "Dot" Luke

Ms. Dorothy Marie “Dot” Luke, 77, of Jacksonville, formerly of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the Cross Care Center in Jacksonville.

Born in Waycross, GA on December 19, 1944, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life prior to moving to Jacksonville a couple of years ago.  She was retired from Lewis & Raulerson where she had worked in bookkeeping and was a member of the Blackshear Church of God.  Ms. Dot was a devoted Christian who loved reading her Bible and sharing her faith.  She had been a hard worker but also found time to enjoy traveling, baking cakes, and spending time with her family. 

She was a daughter of the late Clinton & Pearl Pearson Luke.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean Luke Crawford; and by a great nephew, Justin Reynolds.

Survivors include her brother-in-law, Hubert Crawford of Sumter, SC; her niece and nephew, Kay Reynolds of Jacksonville and Alan (Jennifer) Crawford of Sumter; great nieces and nephews, Faith (Scott) Sims-McGinley, Hope (Edgar) Hernandez, and Zachery (Sara) Crawford; 9 great great nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Dot will be held Friday afternoon, November 4, 2022, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
