Mrs. Donnie Mae Lee Merritt, 91, of Kinard, FL, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at her residence.
Born in Blackshear, GA on October 31, 1932, she lived in Kinard since the first of this year. Mrs. Merritt was a 1950 graduate of Blackshear High School and retired from Florida State Marine where she was a secretary. She loved to travel and enjoyed cooking and playing card games. Mrs. Merritt lived life to the fullest and made the most of every moment. She attended the Christian Information Center.
She was a daughter of the late Ruel & Elizabeth Murphy Lee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Merritt; a son, John Merritt; her sister; and all three of her brothers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Rose (Rory) Leeson of Kinard and Nancy (Kyle) Skibsted of Missoula, MT; her son, Art Merritt of Sopchoppy, FL; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Merritt will be held Saturday morning, August 31, 2024, at 11 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Lamb officiating.
The family will receive friends in the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the High Bluff Cemetery.
