Mr. Dominic Jessie King, 42 of Blackshear, passed away Monday morning, February 3, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Blackshear, GA on February 2, 1978, Dominic had lived in Pierce County all of his life. He was a 1997 graduate of Pierce County High School and was a graduate of Okefenokee Technical College – twice – first with an EMT Certificate and then with his Paramedic Certificate. Dominic had worked in Pierce County and McIntosh County in their EMS Departments, Heartland EMS in Waycross and also at Memorial Satilla in the Emergency Department. Dominic had taught CPR/First Aid at Coastal Pines Technical College as well as having taught classes in various counties. He loved to fish and watch football and never passed up an opportunity to play a joke on someone.
Survivors include his wife, Gina Roberts King of Blackshear; two daughters, Alyssa Shepherd and Whitney King both of Blackshear; his parents, Lewis A. King of Blackshear and Jeanette Taylor King of Blackshear; two sisters, Natasha King of Blackshear and Alysia King of Valdosta; 7 nieces and nephews, McKenzie King, Brittney Wiggins, Coty Brumback, Jennifer Wiggins, Kristen Wiggins, Rebecca Connell, and Kolby Connell; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Dominic will be held Thursday morning, February 6, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.
The family kindly requests all EMS employees serve as honorary pallbearers. Please meet at the funeral home chapel by 10:30 Thursday morning.
