Mrs. Dianne Melton Kight, 71 of Blackshear, passed away late Thursday afternoon, February 13, 2020, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Alma, GA on April 5, 1948, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Mrs. Kight was a homemaker but had worked at the Spatola Shoe Factory and Carter South many years ago. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, going to estate sales, and gardening, and loved being on Facebook where she could keep up with everyone. She was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a very proud grandmother to her two grandchildren.
She was a daughter of the late Jimmie Lee & Edna Earl Thornton Melton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Kight; and all four of her brothers, Ronald Melton, Jimmy Melton, Calvin Melton, and Cecil Melton.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Kight and Tony & Lisa Kight all of Blackshear; four sisters, Lucille (Ed) Altman of Waycross, Eleanor Lange of Panama City, FL, and Janice Turner and Betty Robinson both of Blackshear; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Melton of Blackshear and Wanda Melton of Florida; two grandchildren, Maddison Kight and T. J. Kight; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kight will be held Monday afternoon, February 17, 2020, at 3:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Kight will be held Sunday evening from 6 until at the funeral home.
