Deryl Sanford Cason

Mr. Deryl Sanford Cason, 73, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Blackshear, Ga on August 6, 1951, he lived in Pierce County all his life.  Mr. Cason was a life-long farmer and loved to deer hunt with his dogs.

He was a son of the late Simon Shadrick & Vergie Boyette Cason.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wylene Woodcock and Nadine Denison; and two brothers, Lavon “Peanut” Cason and Arlen Cason.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Adrian & Thomas Melton of Patterson; six sisters, Audrey Rogers of Jesup, Lavinia Thornton of Jesup, Sue Ann Denison of Offerman, Gail Moody of Jesup, Clara Latham of Thalmann, and Delane Gordon of Screven; four brothers, Kenneth Cason of Offerman, Truman (Gail) Cason of Offerman, Donald (Virginia Faye) Cason of Patterson, and Wendell Cason of Offerman; 5 grandchildren, Lawton O’Berry, Lindarra Melton, Trinity Melton, Passion Melton, and Heaven Melton; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Cason will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 4:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home with Elder Shane O’Neal officiating.

Interment was in the Mill Creek Cemetery on Saturday, July 12th.
