Darcile Hyers Obituary

Mrs. Darcile Hyers, 97, of Blackshear, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020, at Baptist Village.

Darcile was born November 11, 1922, in Blackshear and had lived most of her life in Pierce County. She was retired from Peoples Bank. She loved cooking, the Gaithers, and gospel music. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Hacklebarney Baptist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Reddish and Cora Bratcher Carter. She was also predeceased by her husband, Jacob Clinton Hyers, Sr.; three step-sons, Franklin Hyers, Calvin Hyers, and Chester Hyers; two sisters, Alene Palmer, and Beatrice Carter; two brothers, Frank Carter and David Carter.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary (Ronnie) Little Harrison of Waycross, and Jaky H. (Dan) McCall of Ocala, FL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Robert Little, III of Waycross, and Jacob C. (Jocelyn) Hyers, Jr. of Blackshear; two sisters, LaForrest Lee of Blackshear, and Maxine Brasseur of Santa Barbara, CA; 5 grandchildren Tiffany (Austin) Alderman, Brennan (Miranda) Little, John Bolden, Sean Simmons, and Catherine McCall; 8 great grandchildren, Bridge Little, Finn Alderman, Allie Bolden, Emily Bolden, Rhett Little, Chandler Little, Will Smith, and Luke Barnes; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Private graveside services for Mrs. Hyers were held Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 1:00 o’clock from the Oakland Cemetery.

Officiating  and singing was Rev. Warnie Nettles, with Mr. Jimmy Hall of Waycross also singing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Hacklebarney Baptist Church, 6501 Hacklebarney Road, Blackshear, GA 31516.
