Danny Lamar Pearson

Mr. Danny Lamar Pearson, 68 of Blackshear, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Born in Waycross, GA on October 1, 1952, he had lived in Blackshear all of his life.  Mr. Pearson had worked in sandblasting with Bailey Monument Company for several years.  He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed fishing.  Mr. Pearson was always willing to help/give to others.  He dearly loved his grandchildren and was their Papa Danny.  He was of the Church of God faith.

He was a son of the late Henry Coy & Arizona Luke Pearson.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Eason, Cathryn Robbins, and Betty Carter. 

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Brad (Gloria) Pearson of Valdosta; two sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Giddens of Jacksonville and Judy Bennett of Blackshear; 6 grandchildren, Taylor Pearson of Valdosta, Hailey Pearson of Hookerton, NC, Madison Pearson of Snow Hill, NC, Kaitlyn Carr of Snow Hill, Sarah Carr of Valdosta, and Alaina Carr of Snow Hill; 3 great grandchildren, Aiden Blanton, Nicholas Blanton, and Savannah Shrader; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services for Mr. Pearson will be held Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock from the Blackshear Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
