Born in Waycross, GA on March 14, 1939, she had lived in Waycross and Blackshear most of her life.  Mrs. Taylor was retired from Belk department store where she had worked for many years.  She loved her grandchildren and so enjoyed spending time with them.  Reading, crossword puzzles, and cooking were also things she enjoyed.  She was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was in the Young at Heart Sunday school class.  Mrs. Taylor and her siblings would meet each week for lunch and she always looked forward to being with them.

She was a daughter of the late Franklin Laughton & Lucille Buckley Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wennie Eldon Taylor; by a son, David Taylor; and a sister, Pat Carter.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Kenny & Karen Taylor of Taylor, SC; two sisters, Cornelia Bagley of Bickley and Elon Gillis Galloway of Waycross; a brother, Joel (Cathy) Smith of Waycross; 5 grandchildren, Summer Johnson, Leigha (Zach) Dasher, Keleah (Ronnie) McGlothlin, Kateah (Chad) Styles, and C. J. Bland; 7 great grandchildren, Allie, Abigail, and Ava Johnson, Nolan Dasher, Donovan McGlothin, and Karlee & Dax McGlothin; her pet dog, Charlie; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
