Mrs. Daisy Sheral Todd Crump, 73 of Hazlehurst, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 25, 2021, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Born in Blackshear, GA on December 16, 1947, she had lived in Hazlehurst most of her adult life. Mrs. Crump was a 1965 graduate of Blackshear High School. She would go on to further her education at South Georgia College followed by Georgia Southern College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Mrs. Crump taught kindergarten and first grade for the Jeff Davis County Board of Education and retired after 30 years of teaching. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and potted plants as well as collecting family photos but she most enjoyed being with her family – especially her granddaughters whom she adored. Mrs. Crump was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where she had helped with the Women’s Ministries throughout the church.
She was a daughter of the late Loyce & Louise Morgan Todd. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Todd Kicklighter; and two brothers, Richard Todd and Robert Todd.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, James Allen “Jim” Crump of Hazlehurst; her daughter and son-in-law, Patia & Ben Rountree of Statesboro; her son and daughter-in-law, James Allen & Ashely Crump, Jr. of Vidalia; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond & Cassie Todd of Blackshear; her sister-in-law, Cynthia Todd of Blackshear; 5 granddaughters, Reagan McDonald, Ella Faith Rountree, Johnna Rountree, Kendyl Crump and Jessa Crump; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crump will be held Saturday afternoon, August 28, 2021, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
