Clarice June (Davis) DeLoach

Mrs. Clarice June Davis Hinson DeLoach, 86 of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, January 22, 2021, at her residence.

Born on October 29, 1934 in Blackshear, GA, she had lived in Brunswick, GA for many years before moving back to Pierce County in the late 90’s.  Mrs. DeLoach was a pharmacy assistant and had owned and operated Rainbow Drug Store while married to her first husband, the late John Thomas Hinson, Jr. They had other business ventures including Edgy Wooten Lumber Co. and Dairy Queen.  Mrs. DeLoach was a member of the Red Hat Society as well as the Widows Lady group.  She was also a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church where she was in the Women’s Sunday school class.  She was a loving and giving person who enjoyed gardening, birds, cooking, and wildlife. 

She was a daughter of the late Guthrie Columbus & Georgia Bell Smith Davis.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Thomas Hinson, Jr.; her second husband, Robert Edsel DeLoach; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Hein; her sister, Sharon Cassie Davis; her brother, Eddie Davis; a special aunt, Lena Davis; and her pets, Boots and Little Man.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Lynn Holton of Blackshear and Micki & Marcus Peagler of Jackson, MS; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby & Tina DeLoach of Hilliard, FL; 7 grandchildren, Brandy Hinson (Nicole Dupuif), Ashley (Scott) Pittman, Melody (Waverley) Duncan, Micah (Amanda) Peagler, Ty (Christal) DeLoach, Danielle (Shane) McKendree, and Cameran (Robbie) Sawyer; 18 great grandchildren including Isabella Pittman and Abby Pittman; 1 great, great grandchild, her long time friend and caregiver, Connie Files of Blackshear; her pet Westie, Holly; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. DeLoach will be held Monday afternoon, January 25, 2021, at 3 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Rehobeth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
