Mrs. Christine Marie Wagner Benda, 50 of Blackshear, passed away early Friday morning, July 17, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health following a sudden illness.
Born in La Mesa, CA on February 15, 1970, she had lived in Pierce County since 2011. Mrs. Benda was a 1987 graduate of El Cajon Valley High School. She had been employed with The Pet Resort for several years and was in the process of opening her own pet grooming business. She was also a Scentsy Consultant and had been a volunteer with the Okefenokee Humane Society. She enjoyed kayaking and riding the dirt roads on her golf cart but her true passion was helping animals. Mrs. Benda was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Arlene Spring; and two uncles, Dennis Spring and Randy Spring.
Survivors include her husband, Vance R. Benda of Blackshear; her step-son, Jacob Benda of New Bern, NC; her parents, Darlene Spring Wagner of Redlands, CA and Darrell Wagner of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Mandy Wagner and Dianne (Jose’) Garcia all of Redlands, CA; her uncle, Rick (Cathleen) Spring of Sierra Vista, AZ; 3 nephews, Jacob Wagner, Jesse Garcia, and Austin Castillo; two special friends, Dana (Jason) Tatro and Vickie Ratliff all of Blackshear; and several other relatives and friends.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
The family will celebrate Mrs. Benda’s life at a later date.
