Ms. Cheryl Ann Kimbrell Mobley, 69 years young, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after a courageous battle with pneumonia.
Cheryl was the oldest of 4 children born to the late R. O. & Clara Crawford Kimbrell. She was born on July 26, 1951 at the former Ware County Hospital in Waycross. She lived in Pierce County all of her life never living more than 2 miles from her homeplace and graduated from Patterson High School in 1970. In 1971, she married the now late Royce Mobley. From this union, they have a daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. She was a homemaker, a devoted daughter, sister, mama, grandma, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Cheryl was a member of Mershon Baptist Church and had 60 years perfect attendance in Sunday school. She loved to watch the Pierce County Bears play football and if she couldn’t watch a game she would faithfully listen to it on WKUB. She loved kids, her family, her church, her friends, (going and doing all sorts of things with them all) and just life in general. She had a heart of gold and would do anything in the world for anybody. Cheryl was an excellent cook - learning from her mama, was very independent, and didn’t mind telling you what she thought! She never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Paula (Mobley) & Jimmy Gray of Alston; her grandson, Royce Irvin Gray of Alston; three brothers and sisters-in-law, R.
