Mr. Charles Gregory “P-Jim” Murphy, Jr., 48, of Patterson, passed away Friday evening, June 6, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Waycross, GA on November 14, 1976, he lived in Pierce County all his life. P-Jim was a 1996 graduate of Pierce County High School. He was a life-long farmer who when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting and being with his family. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church but was attending Living River Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, T. J. & Nora Mae Perry Smith; his paternal grandfather, Henry Charlie Murphy; and aunt and uncles, Sue & James Carter and Jerry Smith.
Survivors include his twin daughters, Elaina Murphy and Ella Murphy both of Blackshear; his parents, Greg & Jan Murphy, Sr. of Douglas; his brother, Brad Murphy of Patterson; his paternal grandmother, Lavonne “Polly” Moody of Glennville; his niece, Alexis (Ashton) Adams of Patterson; aunts and uncles, Gene (Janice) Smith of Albany, Micki Smith of Bristol, and Doug Murphy of Glennville; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1 o'clock at Martha Memorial Methodist Church with Pastor R. B. Gaskins officiating.
Interment will be in the Martha Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
