Charles Steven Schenck

August 5, 1953 ~ May 19, 2020 (age 66)


Mr. Charles Steven Schenck, 66 of Waycross, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2020, at his residence.

Born in Detroit, MI on August 5, 1953, he had lived in Waycross since 2008.  Mr. Schenck spent most of his life in Deltona, FL.  A hard working man, he owned and operated Chuck’s Lawn Service for over 30 years.  He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church.  Mr. Schenck was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.     

He was the son of the late Charles Bishop & Helen Stoy Schenck.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Humphrey.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Walker Johnson Schenck of Waycross; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Orlando Mercado of Deltona, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven & Danyle Schenck of Deland, FL and Douglas & Shannon Schenck of Jacksonville, FL; a step-daughter, Kerrie (Chris) Dawson of Blackshear; three step-sons, Rodney (Regina) Johnson of Offerman, Jarod (Leslie) Johnson of Blackshear, and Elliot (Carrie) Johnson of Patterson; 6 grandchildren, Rachel Mercado, Cassandra Mercado, Carter Schenck, Haelyn Schenck, Mason Schenck, and Tanner Schenck; 6 bonus grandchildren, Will King, Kylee King, Jordan Johnson, Erica Johnson, Morgan Johnson, and Elliot Johnson, Jr.; 2 great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Braylee; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services for Mr. Schenck will be held Saturday morning, May 23, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock from the Offerman Cemetery.
