Cecil Manders Obituary

Mr. Cecil Farrish Manders, 85, of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning, November 30, 2024, at the Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born in Crisp County, GA on August 20, 1939, he lived in Pierce County for most of his life. He was a hard worker and great provider for his family, working in the building industry for GW Lewis Construction Company. A kind-hearted man of few words, he loved fishing, reading, and watching true crime and sci-fi shows. Mr. Manders took great delight in attending and supporting his  children and grandchildren in all their hobbies and endeavors. A member of First Baptist Church of Blackshear, he knew the Lord as his Savior and often attended Blackshear Presbyterian Church and Calvary Baptist Church with his family. Mr. Manders also found solace listening to Bro. Bill Young’s Sunday morning service on the radio.

He was a son of the late William Henry and Beulah Mae West Manders. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Sharpe Manders, and 11 siblings, Earl Manders, Lucy Rodriquez, James Manders, Roy Manders, Eugene Manders, Paul Manders, Eunice Pittman, Eula Mae Miller, Bernice Murray, Vera Ruth Norman, and Katie Goble.

Survivors include his children, Kelly (Robbin) Rudd and Amy (Chuck) Chancey, all of Waycross, and Kevin (Angela) Manders of Blackshear; a special nephew Darien (Cherrie) Manders of Bristol; three sisters, Katherine Carter of FL, Susie Kurtz of Valdosta, and Annette Manders of Marietta, GA; a brother, Johnnie (Vernell) Manders of Waycross; 7 grandchildren, Shelly (Dwayne) McDaniel, Chris Rudd, Weston (Sheena) Manders, Luke Manders, Kellyn (Dylan) Nobregas, Dylan Chancey, and Brandon Chancey; 6 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Corbin, Aaron, Ashton, Jensen, and Isla; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
