Cathy Ann (Cochran) Steward

Mrs. Cathy Ann Cochran Steward, 73, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday evening, March 11, 2023, at her residence.

Born in Eastman, GA on June 4th, 1949, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Mrs. Cathy was the owner/operator for many years of C & S Catering Company. Cathy always enjoyed a good trip to the beach, and spending time with her family always brought her great joy. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blackshear.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph Robert & Ruth Ann Rutherford Cochran. She was also preceded in death by two of her sisters, Lana Ruth Loback & Wanda Jean Cochran.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Steward of Blackshear; two sons & daughters-in-laws, Ted (Jessie) Lewis of Blackshear and James (Sharon) Steward of Stuart, FL; seven grandchildren, Lee (Madison) Swain, Novil Arnold, Graci Williams, Matti Williams, Bradley (Anna) Steward, Elliott Steward, and Emelie Steward; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Deloach of Blackshear; a brother-in-law, Jack Loback of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Steward will be held Tuesday morning, March 14, 2023, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mary Ann Braswell officiating.

Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Steward will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
