Carroll Arnold Brooker

Mr. Carroll Arnold Brooker, 77 of Blackshear, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Blackshear, GA on October 17, 1945, he had lived in Pierce County since 1996. Mr. Brooker served in the US Army for two years and retired from Bell South after 35 years of service. He was known as “The Rambler” and could talk for hours. He was a kind, loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved the Lord. Mr. Brooker enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a part of several hunting clubs. He was a good neighbor and loved to travel to new places. Mr. Brooker was a faithful member of Ward Memorial Church.

He was a son of the late Lester L. and Clara Altman Brooker, Sr.. He was also preceded in death by all his brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Joann Brooker; a daughter, Kanda (Byron) Ellis of Tifton;  four sons, Rodney (Helen) Brooker of Flower Mound, TX, Russell “Rusty” (Jennifer) Brooker of Tifton, DaWayne (Brandi) King of Blackshear, and Patrick King of Columbia, TN; a sister, Molly (Jimmy) Harper of Tifton; 10 grandchildren, Jacob Brooker, Lauren Brooker, Russ Brooker, Jay Brooker, Hunter (Ivy) Lane, Kassi (Kyle) Bowen, Brandon (Kayla) Strickland, Trey (Samantha) Dollar, Taylor Ellis, and Ethan King; 4 great grandchildren, Ren Lane, Celee Bowen, Shep Bowen, Darby Dollar; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Brooker will be held Tuesday morning, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.
