Carol Jackson Dixon

Mr. Carol Jackson Dixon, 84 of Blackshear, passed away late Friday evening, January 10, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health.
 
Born in Blackshear, GA on September 29, 1935, he had lived in Savannah, GA for many years prior to moving back to Pierce County 12 years ago.  Mr. Dixon was retired from ADT Security Systems in Savannah but had worked at several other things over the years such as construction and roofing.  He loved fishing, watching NASCSAR (he was a Bill Elliott fan), and was a big Ford fan and especially loved the Ford Mustang.  Mr. Dixon was a wonderful joke teller and loved to make people laugh.  He was a hard working man who was always providing for his family.  Mr. Dixon had the purest, kindest heart and dearly loved his family.  He was of the Baptist faith.
 
He was the son of the late Pomeroy G. & Idell Altman Dixon.  He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years who passed away on August 2, 2019, Helen Fay Hayman Dixon.
   
Survivors include his three daughters, Debra (James) Hallex of Ellabell, Vicky Dixon of Blackshear, and Helen (Howard) Amelsberg of Ellabell; three sons, Carol Jackson “Buddy” (Darlene) Dixon, Jr., Robert “Robbie” Dixon, and Billy (Jessica) Dixon all of Blackshear; two sisters, Peggy (Len) Tennis of Savannah and Wanda (Barney) O’Steen of Blackshear; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
      
Funeral services for Mr. Dixon will be held Tuesday morning, January 14, 2019, at 11 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
 
Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.
 
Visitation for Mr. Dixon will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.
