Brenda Faye (Harris) Underwood

Mrs. Brenda Faye Harris Underwood, 57, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Born in Albany, GA on September 6, 1966, she had lived in Homerville prior to moving to Pierce County 10 years ago.  Mrs. Underwood had been employed by Flash Foods as a cashier for many years.  She loved to go fishing, and when she wasn’t frying up her own catch, she liked to eat at Captain D’s.  She never met a stranger and loved everyone, her cats and dogs, but especially her family and grandchildren.  Mrs. Underwood was of the Christian faith.

She was the daughter of the late James Durward and Carolyn Wyoming Dawson Harris.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene King.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, David Underwood of Blackshear; a step-daughter, Jennifer Marshall of Homerville; 3 sons, Donald Rogers of Homerville, Andrew McBee of Blackshear, and Brandon McBee of Waycross; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Underwood will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, at 4:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the High Bluff Cemetery.
