Mr. Bobby Joe Lewis, 72, of Pierce County, passed away Monday afternoon, October 10, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health.
Born in Waycross, GA on April 13, 1950, he had lived in Wayne County for many years prior to moving to Pierce County. He was a 1968 graduate of Wayne County High School and retired from Rayonier after 30 plus years as their warehouse superintendent. Mr. Lewis was passionate about bodybuilding, loved to travel, and enjoyed any time spent with family and friends. He was a member of Jesup First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Offie Vernon Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Strickland Lewis of Axson; his mother, Virginia Elizabeth Sweat Lewis of Pierce County; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Harold Rozier of Blackshear; his niece, Virginia Rozier (Trey) Tison of Waycross; his great niece, Claire Tison of Waycross; and several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Lewis will be private.
