Bertha Elizabeth Jordan Miles, 89, of Ware County, passed away August 28, 2020 at Harborview Nursing Home in Pierce County.
Born in Ware County, December 16, 1930, she lived there most of her life. She graduated from Wacona School where she played on the state basketball team. She worked for Southern Bell in her early years and was the hostess for the “Green Frog” Restaurant for several years which suited her wonderful personality. She later retired from Wacona School as a lunch room lady. She loved people and they loved her. She always had a sweet smile and never complained when times got tough. She loved life and loved her family. (We love you Nannie Bertha). She was a great cook and was known for her famous “sweet tea”. She loved to bake and would often take cakes to the Waycross Hospice House. She loved the lord and was of the Baptist faith. While in the Harborview Nursing Home she was crowned “Ms. Pierce County Nursing Home” and then went on to state where she was crowned “Ms. Georgia Health Care Association” queen. This special event was created to help promote a positive public image of nursing home residents and their potential for living fulfilling lives.
