Mrs. Beatrice Emma Crump Crosby, 97 of Mershon, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2021, at her residence.
Born in Bristol, GA on March 14, 1924, she had lived in Pierce County all her life. Mrs. Crosby and her late husband, Vernon, had owned and operated Crosby Appliance and Furniture Store for many years as well as farmed. She was a founding member of the American Cancer Society Pierce County Chapter and had been a member of Bristol Baptist Church since she was 12 years old.
She was a daughter of the late Charles Madison & Ada Jane Young Crump. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vernon Crosby; a daughter, Jean Sinclair; two sons, Ray Crosby and Michael Vernon Crosby; three sons-in-law, Ladell Dixon, Michael Carter, and Rev. Jack Sinclair; three grandchildren, Lora Sinclair, Kristi Carter, and Casey Crosby; and her sister and all 7 of her brothers.
Survivors include three daughters, Eunice (Howard) Jones of Mershon, Carolyn Dixon of Bristol, and Sue Carter of Blackshear; two sons, Charles (Wanda) Crosby of Bristol and Frank (Pat) Crosby of Mershon; a sister-in-law, Eldora Crump of Mershon; a brother-in-law, Donald Crosby of Blackshear; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 13 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crosby will be held Tuesday afternoon, April 20, 2021, at 5:00 o’clock from the Bristol Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
