Mr. Bayne Eason, 77, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday evening, September 15, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Surrency, GA on March 29, 1947, he lived in Pierce County most of his adult life. Mr. Eason was a truck driver and of the Christian faith. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp on the Altamaha River and also enjoyed saltwater fishing. Mr. Eason loved dirt track racing and had his own business, Eason Motors Racing, where he built racecar motors.
He was a son of the late Abe Gaulden & Myrtice Fulton Eason. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Evelyn Larsen Eason, who passed away on August 11, 2024; a son, Wayne Eason; four sisters, Clara Tillman, Annie Lou Westberry, Ruby Morris, and Earlene Westberry; and four brothers, Lee, Joe, Clayton, and Jake Eason.
Survivors include his sons, Gerome Eason of Blackshear, Ricky Eason of Odum, Brennan Eason of Jesup, and Shannon David (Jana) Strickland of Bristol; a daughter-in-law, Cyndi Eason of Odum; five sisters, Linda Lane and Birdie Woods, both of Jesup, Helen Robbins of Ellijay, Carolyn Norman of Blackshear, and Cathy Bryant of Jacksonville; two brothers, Avery (Linda) Eason of Grovetown and Abe “Sam” (Kim) Eason of Jacksonville; 9 grandchildren, Tyler Watkins, Gerniee (Zach) Saylor, Quetin Eason, Jacob Eason, Romey Eason, Frankie Eason, Bayne Eason, Landon Eason, and Sasha Eason; 7 great grandchildren, Eli Watkins, Anna Jade Watkins, Braydon Sweat, Bailey Bryant, Baylen Eason, Gatlen Saylor, and Grayson Saylor; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Eason will be held Friday afternoon, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Eason will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.
