Mrs. Barbara Ann Thornton Mobley, 88, of Patterson, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at her residence.
Born in Patterson, GA on December 8, 1931, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. Mrs. Mobley was a 1951 graduate of Patterson High School. She had briefly worked as a telephone operator in Waycross before pursing her calling and obtaining her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. Pleasing others and making them happy was how she lived her life and not only was she a mother to her two daughters, she was a mother to many others as well. Mrs. Mobley was of the Holiness faith and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was a daughter of the late Lawton Grady & Mae Griffin Thornton. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Margaret Speaks and Betty Thornton; and four brothers, Gustene “Shorty” Thornton, Gilbert Thornton, James “Jiggs” Thornton, and Shon Thornton.
