Barbara JoAnn McFarland

Ms. Barbara JoAnn McFarland, 56 of Patterson, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 22, 2020, at her sister’s residence following a short illness.

Born in Crestline, OH on April 22, 1964, she had lived Ohio for several years before moving to Pierce and Ware Counties since 1998.  She was a counselor for Unison Behavioral Health and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she had been the Children’s Church Teacher as well as serving in several other capacities.  Ms. McFarland loved to crafts, color, read, and write books and poetry.

She was a daughter of the late Ralph Edward & Patricia Ann Troutman McFarland.   

Survivors include her siblings, Rosie Arowood and Adaline Miller (Christopher Goff) all of Patterson and John H. McFarland and Kevin McFarland both of Blackshear; 10 nieces and nephews, Christina Bersch (Joshua Jackson), Johnathan Miller, John M. (Rebecca) McFarland, Christopher (Megan) McFarland, Cody McFarland, Scott Austin (Holly) Miller, Colton (Johnna) Miller, Robert McFarland, Krystal McFarland, and Rose McFarland; 14 great nieces and nephews with 2 on the way; and several other relative and friends.

A memorial service for Ms. McFarland will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 3:00 pm from the Church of the Nazarene, 2505 Alice Street, Waycross, GA. There will be a time of visitation after the service until 5:00 pm. 

Memorialization is by cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with Ms. McFarland’s arrangements.
