Mr. Archie Keith Crawford, 63 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Born in Blackshear, GA on June 22, 1959, he had lived in Pierce County for many years prior to moving to Mt. Vernon sixteen years ago. Mr. Crawford was a 1977 graduate of Blackshear High School. He worked for Gilman Building Products for a few years before becoming going to work for the City of Waycross’s Fire Department as a fireman. Mr. Crawford retired from the City of Waycross after 32 years of service as a Battalion Chief. He loved riding motorcycles and had logged 192,000 miles between two different motorcycles over the years. His rides would take him all over and he always looked forward to exploring the sights. Mr. Crawford’s “hobby” was doting on his two granddaughters whom he dearly loved.
He was a son of the late James Elbert Crawford and Joyce Elaine Bennett Crawford Peacock. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Virlyn Peacock; and two brothers, James Elbert Crawford, Jr. and Travis Lamar “T-Bone” Crawford.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lawrence Crawford of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Trinity Lynn Villegas and Devan Price both of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Dustin Levi Crawford of Blackshear and Eli (Denise) Carey of Lyons; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Larry & Connie Crawford and Francis Peacock all of Blackshear; 2 granddaughters, Abigail Carey and Andrea Carey; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
As per Mr. Crawford’s request, there will be no services.
Memorialization is by cremation.
