Mrs. Annie Ruth Rutherford Cochran, 90, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, November 13, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Rentz, GA on December 9, 1931, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Mrs. Cochran was a retired CNA having worked at Baptist Village Nursing Home for many years. She loved to garden & tend to flowers. Mrs. Cochran was devoted to her family and always cared about others and doing for them. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late John F. & Gladys Mullis Rutherford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robert “J.R.” Cochran; two daughters, Wanda Cochran and Lana Loback; a sister, Nell Wright; and both of her brothers, Billy Rutherford and Harold Rutherford.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy & Gerald Steward and Donna Deloach all of Blackshear; a sister, Edith Jones of Augusta; 4 grandchildren, Ted (Jessie) Lewis, Holly Davis, Jordyn Loback, and Michaela Loback; 2 great grandchildren, Zach Sweat and Leigha Sweat; a great, great grandchild, Wyatt Boatright; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cochran will be held Friday afternoon, November 18, 2022, at 2 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Active pallbearers will be Ted Lewis, Zach Sweat, Dave Peacock, Doug Cochran, Greg Jones, Josh Tippins, and Wyatt Boatright.
