Allie Howell Obituary

Mrs. Allie Mae Batten Howell, 90 of Blackshear, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.

Born in Blackshear, GA on June 22, 1930, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life.  Mrs. Howell was a homemaker and had loved word searches, crafts including crocheting, and coloring.  She also loved to work in her yards and listen to gospel and bluegrass music and be with her family.  She was a member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church but had been attending Bridge Church at her apartment complex.       

She was the last surviving daughter of the late Joseph Nathaniel & Hattie Altman Batten.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Edward Howell; a son, James Edward Howell; and all of her sisters and brothers, Goldie, Ada Mabel, Martha Irene, Ruby, Bashie Eloise, Joseph Macon, James Loid, Lewis Alvin, Bernard, and Vernon.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Annette Howell, Darlene Howell (Dana McDuffie Dial), and Amy Howell Dixon all of Blackshear; a son, Larry (Amelia) Howell of Waycross; a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Danny) Mock of Waycross; 9 grandchildren, Sirena H. (Trent) Cady, Trent Howell Long (Jimmie Nell), Anthony (Nikki) Howell, Kisha (Bradford) Williams, Larry Howell, Jr., Dusty Howell, Terry Marchman, Michael Loredo, and Tracey Stone; 8 great grandchildren with one more on the way, Lexie Howell, Tessa Howell, Tug Williams, Tabitha Cady Barnard (Rocky), Madison Long Sarro (Caleb), Braxton Long, Ryder Long, and Sydney Stone; 1 great, great grandchild, Peytan Addison Barnard; a special friend, Tori Smith of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.  

Graveside services for Mrs. Howell will be held Monday morning, November 30, 2020, at 11 o’clock from the High Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the graveside from 10 until 11.
