Mr. Simon Lavon "Peanut" Cason, 80 of Patterson, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2013, at Mayo Health System - Waycross. Born in Patterson, Georgia on November 25, 1932, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. Mr. Cason was a farmer and loved to work in his garden, fish, and hunt with his dogs. He was a former member of the Big Creek Hunting Club. Mr. Cason was a son of the late Simon Shadrick & Vergie Elizabeth Boyett Cason. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Faye Thomas Cason; a son, Neal Cason; by a grandson, Nicholas Cason; and by a sister, Nadene Denison. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda & Ellis Denison of Offerman and Jennifer Cason of Patterson; a son, Jeffery Cason of Patterson; 8 sisters, Lavinia Thornton, Audrey Rogers, Gail Cason and Delane Gordon all of Jesup, Wylene (James) Woodcock and Sue Ann Denison all of Patterson and Clara (Wilks) Latham of Brunswick; 6 brothers, Arlen Cason of Blakely, Wendell Cason, Truman (Gail) Cason, Donald (Virginia) Cason and Kenneth (Velma) Cason all of Patterson and Deryl Cason of Blackshear; a brother-in-law, Troy Denison of Patterson; 5 grandchildren, Drew (Robyn) Denison, Casey (Megan) Cason, James Michael Cason, Nicole Cason and Hunter Cason; 6 great grandchildren, Kristen Cason, Emma Smith, Olivia Smith, Cason Denison, Jase Cason and Charlee Denison; and numerous nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Offerman Cemetery.
